DISCOVERY PLAYHOUSES

GirlsBuild is a non-profit organization that offers programming for girls teaching the basics of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, auto and bike mechanics, sheet metal and more via summer camps and after-school workshops. 

ACID teamed up with GirlsBuild to design their focus project for the 2025 camps. These creative backyard playhouses are whimsical and fun, while being cost-effective and simple to build- any DIY enthusiast can construct these designs using materials available at a local hardware store or with materials on hand. Each design incorporates a central tunnel element, to encourage alternative forms of play and provide refuge.
